Who I Am
I am a Licensed Psychologist. I received my doctoral degree from the Clinical Psychology program at The George Washington University in 1988. During my studies I worked in community mental health and continued working in community mental health until 1993. At that time I opened a private practice in Laurel, Maryland. In 2023 I moved my office to Columbia, Maryland.
Who I Treat
I work primarily with adults and couples. I treat patients with a wide variety of problems including: depression, anxiety, mood disorders, personality disorders and adjustment disorders. In addition, I work with individuals on issues regarding sexuality and gender.
What To Expect
The first session is an intake, a time for me to learn a lot about you and the issues you want to address. I will ask many questions about your family, work, education, relationships and physical health. In addition, I will explore previous treatment efforts. After completing the intake I will discuss treatment strategies and, together, we will set treatment goals. If we agree on the approach that I suggest and you feel comfortable working with me, we then go ahead and make further appointments.
